The Pill

Grace ran to her room closing the door behind her locking it. She looked around and ran to the window. The darkness was closing in on her. It was now at the door starting to seep through the pores of the wooden door. “Stop-go away!” She yelled. Trying to open the window, which was nailed shut.

Two days ago Grace woke up and everything was normal she was happy again and forgot about the pain. She lived like nothing happened to her. She stepped into a club last night with her friends and then images started to flash in her hand. She ignored the flashes and went on with her night. Her friends were glad she was back to her normal happy self. Later that night she went to bed and woke up from a nightmare, but it felt more like real life to her.

She woke up this morning having a feeling that she tried to hide. She went out with her friends, they went to the park and then to the mall. Her friends did not notice that something was on Grace’s mind. She didn’t want to tell them about her nightmare. “Here Grace we are going to the carnival tomorrow you should come.”

“Yeah, I am so down for that. I have to go to see my family very quick before we go out tonight.” Grace went to her family's house and enjoyed having dinner with them and talked about her work and new things going on in her life. Once they were done, she left to go on hanging out with her friends.
That night they went to another club, as Grace was drinking she saw a dark figure in the corner of the room staring at her. It gave her the chills. “Do you see the weird guy in the corner?” She asked her friends.

“What guy? There is no one there.” One of her friends said. The left went to another bar the dark figure followed them. Grace left and went home from being creeped out. Once she stepped inside her head images came back in her head. Then it hit her she started to feel sad and hurt. It is as if a door opened and she could not keep it closed anymore. She cried a bit then noticed the dark figure in front of her door standing outside. She frantically grabbed her phone but the battery has died.

“Stop I’m going to call the cops.” Then she started to see black slim coming from underneath the door. She stood in shock but something inside her yelling at her to run. She ran upstairs to her room. As she gets to the top of the stairs and looks down and she could see the dark figure about to come up. She ran to her room slamming the door shut behind her.

Grace was forcibly pulling at the window with all she has and the nails at the bottom of the window starts to move. By then there was a large pool of dark liquid on the floor in front of her door. She watched as the liquid started to form a silhouette of a person. “What are you?” She yelled.

“I am you. I represent all your feelings without your anger your anxiety. I am you. You forgot to take your pills for the last few days.” Grace thought and she has been taking them. She merely forgot to take the pills that make her happy and joyful with no worries or doubts. The pills are what everyone takes. It prevents people from showing their feelings. She ran to grab the pills the dark figure moved and took the pills.

“No... Stop I need them.”

“Do you really need them?” The dark figure grabs her...

Grace jolts up in bed instantly looking around her room. It was just a terrible nightmare. She reached over and took a pill and got ready for the day.
